Beschrijving
From birth, every child is competent, strong, and intelligent, possessing as many as a hundred languages to communicate with their environment. Children grow up in a community of people, and from the very first moment, they are focused on interaction and communication with those around them. They are curious and eager to learn, and they approach their world with all their senses and abilities. They develop thoughts, ideas, and fantasies. They connect their ideas, form theories, and make plans. Young children are explorers and creators: they shape their own development. Naturally, children also depend on the care and attention of the adults around them for this. Because no matter how great their abilities and how meaningful their ideas and plans are, they need adults who immerse themselves in them, observe them, and listen to them. Professionals who connect with the children's research questions and provide them with the space and resources they need.
These ideas form the core of the work in Reggio Emilia and are the source of inspiration for SPOREN, the pedagogy for children from zero to seven developed by the Stichting Pedagogiek¬ontwikkeling 0-7 (Foundation for Pedagogical Development 0-7). Ten years ago, Pedagogiek 0-7 introduced the Reggio Emilia approach to the Netherlands with the exhibition and conference "The Children of Reggio" at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Subsequently, the Stichting Pedagogiek 0-7 worked within research projects to translate Reggio Emilia's ideas into Dutch practice in daycare centers, preschools, and primary schools. This book introduces the Sporen pedagogy. It is a book full of theories, practices, histories, thoughts, and ideas. A collection of images and stories from the children and adults who collaborated for ten years on the development of SPOREN.
