The colors of the 7 Nins hidden in their little containers were not chosen at random. Each day of the week is associated with a specific color, according to Waldorf pedagogy . Ancient cultures believed that each day of the week was linked to its own planet, color, smell, and grain. The Waldorf vision has further developed this idea to help children understand the days of the week. The colors associated with the weekdays are: Monday purple, Tuesday red, Wednesday yellow, Thursday orange, Friday green, Saturday blue, Sunday white. The Nins can tell a story together with the containers, and the Nins whose turn it is can sleep in their containers.
