About Koos Meinderts
Koos Meinderts was born in The Hague in 1953 and debuted as a writer in 1983. He writes stories, poems, and song lyrics for both children and adults. Koos also translates books, such as "Trol en het Pietertje" (Troll and the Little Peter), which was among the Picture Book Top Ten during the 2013 National Reading Days, and "De krabjes staken!" (The Crayons Stook!), winner of the 2015 Silver Griffel.
With his young adult novels "Long May She Live" and "Seeing the Sea," Koos Meinderts paints a picture of life and death, and of the relationships that exist between people. Throughout his writing career, Koos has won numerous awards. In the jury report for the 2013 Children's Bookstore Prize, Koos was described as "a true language artist."
